LegitScript is hiring for an exceptional, senior-level marketing director to lead our marketing, branding, public relations and messaging efforts. You’ll be a good fit if you are a strategic thinker, superb writer, and able to gain some degree of genuine expertise in our field. In this position, you will be at the frontline of aligning LegitScript’s brand and marketing materials with our values, products and services. You should be comfortable in public, reasonably outgoing and have a good persona.

About the Position

This is a marketing position, not a sales position, although sales will benefit from this role. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing an accurate understanding of the company’s long-range vision and developing a marketing strategy to support it.

  • Understanding, analyzing and internally sharing information about market trends and competition.

  • Managing, editing and maintaining marketing, branding and social media materials (print and web).

  • Ensuring that sales team has right materials and resources to provide potential clients.

  • Coordinating, and in some cases helping write and publicly disseminate, blogs, social media, and white papers.

  • Serving as first line of defense with reporters and media; assisting with press releases and other media materials.

  • Coordinating company presence or presentations at conventions, trade associations and seminars.

  • As needed, coordinating with and overseeing outside vendors.

  • Building and leading a marketing team.

As with any marketing position, you will need to develop a deep understanding of our target market, which includes banks and payment providers, as well as other companies that need monitoring or compliance services. If you are strong at marketing and do not have a background in those sectors, but are committed to learning those sectors, you should apply. That said, a background in these sectors is a plus.

You will report directly to the CEO of the company, and may be required to build and manage a team.

The Right Match

  • Marketing and PR experience. Proven, established marketing-related results in a relevant industry and, ideally, some experience with public relations.

  • Writing. You must be a superb writer.

  • Design. You don’t need to be a designer. However, you must have an eye for design, and basic proficiency in editing and updating marketing materials and creating clean web content in basic programs like WordPress blogs or Twitter.

  • Knowledge. The most important knowledge is that derived from marketing experience. Ideally, you would also have experience in the compliance, regulatory, banking, search engine and/or e-commerce sectors.

  • Media familiarity. You need to know how the media and press operate.

  • Mentoring / Supervisory Capability. You should have the capability to build a market team and mentor team members.

Our ideal candidate will also:

  • Be organized

  • Have a knack for understanding client needs

  • Have experience working as a part of cross-functional teams

  • Be able to work as a member of the senior leadership team in harmonizing marketing strategies with sales and other company priorities

  • Have had experience in larger companies, but be ready to join a smaller team and lead it through a growth phase and beyond.

  • Have experience in public speaking and presenting.

  • Have some familiarity with regulatory / compliance environment in high-risk sectors (pharmacies, supplements, gambling)

Salary: Competitive, and based on experience.

Candidates should provide a writing sample as well as a sample of past marketing materials. Note that LegitScript will be reviewing applications over the next week or two, and will schedule interviews after that.
