LegitScript Announces New Organizational Structure to Accelerate and Expand Its Certification Solutions
A dedicated business unit reinforces LegitScript’s commitment to growing its certification programs and improving the customer experience.
LegitScript, the leader in merchant and product certification and monitoring in the e-commerce and payment sectors, announces a new organizational structure to improve the company’s existing products, bring innovative new solutions to the market, and better serve customers.
A critical part of the restructuring includes the creation of Certification and Compliance Solutions, a new business unit that comprises LegitScript’s certification programs, policy analysts who support the programs, and a growing client relations team. This department is charged with driving continued value and growth of LegitScript’s certification programs, which vet businesses operating in healthcare, CBD, and drug and alcohol addiction treatment for safety and transparency.
Leading the new department is General Manager Michal Conley, who has been at LegitScript for more than 10 years, having most recently served as Vice President of Analyst Operations.
“We recognized the need for a centralized leadership structure to drive our mission of making the internet and payment ecosystems safer and more transparent,” Conley said. “We’re committed to identifying areas to improve the experience of our merchants and increasing areas of opportunity for our certification partners while continuing to protect the end consumer.”
Conley said she decided to approach her internal transition as if she were joining the company as a new employee.
“I intentionally spent my first 30 days understanding the various relationships that are embedded in our offering, our clients and partners needs, and evaluating the best way to drive value,” she said. “Certification is a seal of approval that enables merchants to showcase their compliance, demonstrate the highest standards of commercial integrity, and unlock the opportunity to advertise and accept digital payments on global platforms used by millions of consumers.”

Conley’s diverse background, which includes military service and a counseling career, has always centered on public health, safety, and security. She sees her new role as an extension of her values.
“First and foremost, I am a mother and a digital consumer concerned with the safety of the products and services that are so easily available through our computers and phones,” she said.
LegitScript’s certification programs — which include thousands of certified addiction treatment providers, pharmacies, telemedicine providers, and CBD merchants — have experienced consistent year-over-year growth in recent years. In particular, the number of certified addiction treatment facilities grew 23% in 2022 compared to the previous year.
Strategic partnerships continue to be an important part of the growth of LegitScript’s certification programs. In late 2022, LegitScript partnered with Google to certify certain topical, non-ingestible CBD products and the websites that market them. This certification is currently the only one authorized by Google to vet advertisers for eligible CBD products and websites. In February 2023, LegitScript announced a collaboration with Locke Bio, a digital health platform company, to help new and emerging digital healthcare providers grow their business while navigating telehealth’s complex compliance requirements.
