Certification Seal Refresh FAQ
As part of our commitment to enhancing trust, transparency, and compliance, we’re excited to introduce the newly redesigned LegitScript Certification Seal. This FAQ provides all the information you need about the updated seal, its benefits, and how to ensure a seamless transition.
About the New Seal
The new LegitScript Certification Seal will officially launch on January 22, 2025. On this date, the updated seal will replace the current version automatically, provided the seal code is implemented correctly on your website. This update is designed to be seamless, with no downtime or disruptions. If you experience any issues, please refer to the troubleshooting steps below.
Our rebranded seal combines a modern look with the assurance of compliance and trust that you expect from LegitScript. The new seal is not only visually appealing but also instantly recognizable, reinforcing your commitment to transparency and integrity. Displaying the new seal assures your customers that your business meets the highest standards of compliance and safety.
We’ve decided to remove the date from the certification seal for the following reasons:
- Avoiding Misinterpretation:The date on the seal caused confusion for users. Some believed it represented the certification's issue or expiration date, while others thought it indicated when the seal was last updated. Removing the date eliminates potential misinterpretations.
- Redundancy with Online Verification:
The primary purpose of the date was to show that the certification was up to date. However, this function is already better served by the clickable feature of the seal, which directs users to the live status of the certification on LegitScript's website. - Streamlined Design: Removing the date simplifies the seal’s appearance, making it cleaner and more professional while focusing attention on its core purpose: validating legitimacy.
We have improved the functionality of the certification seal to provide quicker and more convenient access to important information.
Now, when you click the seal, it takes you directly to the specific status page for your website on LegitScript.com. This means users can instantly verify your certification without needing to search or navigate through additional pages.
This update ensures a faster, smoother experience for users seeking to confirm your website's legitimacy, reinforcing trust and transparency.
As part of our recent update, we have refreshed the seal image to improve its appearance and functionality. If your seal code was correctly implemented, the update should have occurred automatically.
No, there should be no downtime. The update should apply seamlessly if the code is implemented correctly. If you experience any issues, please contact our Client Relations team at [email protected] for assistance.
Implementing the Seal
If your certification seal code was implemented correctly, it will look like this (without the watermark):
- When hovering your cursor over the seal image, a hover message should display in order to give visitors quick validation that your website is approved by LegitScript.
- Clicking the seal image will bring you to the LegitScript Certification Status page for your website.
If you notice that your seal has not updated, it might be incorrectly implemented.
If the updated seal image does not update automatically, it might indicate incorrect implementation.
Please follow the troubleshooting steps below:

Troubleshooting and Compatibility
The alignment of the seal image on your website may depend on how your page is coded or styled. Your internal IT team or web developer can make adjustments to the code or styling to ensure the seal lines up perfectly with your other badges.
This issue is likely related to how your website is handling responsive design or browser compatibility. We recommend reaching out to your IT team to review the implementation and ensure the seal displays consistently across devices.
Our seal code is designed to be compatible with any modern programming language that works with HTML, including JavaScript and similar setups. If your website uses standard technologies like HTML or JavaScript, the seal code will integrate seamlessly.
The seal code is built to integrate smoothly with HTML, so workarounds are rarely needed. However, if you encounter a unique setup, your internal IT team might need to make custom adjustments for implementation.
