Below we answer some common questions that apply to LegitScript Certification programs overall. This FAQ is intended as a general reference and does not replace our Certification Standards or Terms & Conditions for each program.

Which LegitScript Certification is right for my business?

The right certification depends on your business model, the products or services you offer, and your goals.

Should I apply for Healthcare Certification or Addiction Treatment Certification?

If you would like to advertise online, and your website includes information about substance use disorder treatment services, advertising platforms may classify your business under their addiction treatment policies—even if you don't intend to advertise those services directly.

In these cases, we generally recommend Addiction Treatment Certification.

If you're unsure which program best fits your business, email [email protected] and we'll help determine the most appropriate certification.

What are your business hours?

Our team operates during regular U.S. business hours and responds to inquiries as quickly as possible.

Because we receive a high volume of inquiries, you can generally expect a response within approximately two business days.

To help us respond as efficiently as possible, please avoid sending duplicate emails or multiple follow-up messages.

How do I contact Client Relations?

Email is the fastest and preferred way to reach our team.

If needed, we're happy to schedule a call for general questions. Compliance-related matters, including application reviews and analyst findings, are generally handled in writing.

Who can answer questions about advertising policies or advertising decisions?

LegitScript and advertising platforms have different roles.

LegitScript can answer questions about LegitScript Certification, while advertising platforms are responsible for developing, enforcing, and interpreting their own advertising policies and making advertising decisions.

Please contact the advertising platform for:

Whether your business is eligible to advertise
Whether your ads comply with the platform's advertising policies
Why an advertisement was approved or disapproved
Landing page or ad copy requirements
Advertising account suspensions or advertising restrictions
Interpretation of the platform's advertising policies
Platform-specific advertising requirements

Advertising platforms independently develop and enforce their own advertising policies and make all advertising decisions. As a result, LegitScript cannot predict, interpret, modify, or appeal those decisions.

Some products and services may be subject to additional advertising restrictions depending on an advertising platform's policies.

For example, businesses offering ketamine-related services may be subject to additional advertising restrictions. LegitScript cannot determine whether an advertising platform will approve or deny advertisements for ketamine-related content.

If your question relates to an advertising policy, advertising eligibility, ad approval, account restriction, or another platform-specific decision, please contact the advertising platform directly through its support channels.

LegitScript cannot predict, interpret, modify, or appeal advertising decisions made by advertising platforms.

I can't log in to my account. What should I do?

Email [email protected] with a description of the issue, and we'll help restore your access as quickly as possible.

How do I reset my password?

To reset your password:

Go to legitscript.com and select Log In.
Enter your email address and select Continue.
Select Forgot password and follow the prompts.

Password reset links expire two hours after they're requested.

If you don't receive the email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder.

How do I add, change, or remove a contact on my account?

Email [email protected].

If you're adding a new contact, include:

First and last name
Email address
Phone number
Job title or role

If you're changing your primary account contact, please indicate that in your request.

How do I start an application?

To begin an application:

Create an account at certification.legitscript.com.
Select the certification program that best fits your business.
Complete the enrollment form.
Pay the application fee.
Complete and submit your application for review.

What resources are available to help me complete my application?

We offer guides and checklists to help you prepare your application.

If there isn't a guide specific to your country or business model, we recommend using the standard guide for that certification program.

How long do I have to submit my application?

We encourage you to submit your application as soon as you are able. Please know that your progress is saved automatically, allowing you to complete the application at your own pace.

If more than one year has passed since you paid the application fee, we may ask you to complete the latest version of the application before submitting it. Any fees you've already paid will still be honored.

I need help with my application. Who should I contact?

Most questions can be resolved by email. If a phone call would be helpful, we're happy to schedule one.

To help us respond as quickly as possible, please submit your request only once. Sending the same request multiple times or through multiple contact methods may delay our response.

What if part of the application doesn't apply to my business?

Our applications support a variety of business models, so it's normal for some questions not to apply.

Answer each question to the best of your ability based on your business.

If a required file upload doesn't apply to your business, you may upload a blank document so you can continue with your submission.

We will contact you if additional information or clarification is needed.

Will my application automatically be denied if something is missing?

No.

Our review process is collaborative. If we need additional information or documentation, we will contact you throughout the review.

Responding promptly to requests can help keep your application moving forward.

How long does certification take?

Every application is different, so we're unable to provide an estimated certification timeline.

Review times vary based on:

Application complexity
The completeness of your submission
How quickly you respond to requests for information
Current application volume

Submitting complete information and responding promptly to analyst requests can help avoid unnecessary delays.

Can I expedite my application?

Yes.

Expedited Processing is available for an additional $2,500 per application.

This service ensures your application review will begin within five business days after successfully completing screening.

Expedited Processing prioritizes the start of your review. It does not shorten the compliance review itself.

To add Expedited Processing after submitting your application, email [email protected].

Can I see where my application is in the review queue?

Unfortunately not.

Application queue positions are not available and cannot be viewed in the Client Portal.

Applications are generally reviewed in the order they're received, although review times may vary depending on application complexity, applicant responsiveness, and overall application volume.

We are working as quickly as we can to process your application. If you need your review to begin sooner, Expedited Processing may be a good option.

How is pricing calculated?

Each LegitScript Certification program uses a different pricing model based on what is being certified.

The examples below explain how each pricing model works.

Healthcare Certification and CBD Website Certification

Healthcare Certification and CBD Website Certification are priced per root domain.

A root domain is the primary website address (for example, example.com).

Subdomains and subpages are generally included under the certified root domain and do not require a separate certification.

Example

If example.com is certified, the following are generally covered under the same certification:

- shop.example.com
- info.example.com
- example.com/about

A separate application fee is only required if you want to certify a different root domain.

Addiction Treatment Certification

Addiction Treatment Certification is priced per unique facility.

Generally, a unique facility is a distinct location providing addiction treatment services, even if multiple facilities operate under the same corporate entity.

When determining whether multiple locations are considered a single facility, LegitScript may consider factors such as:

- Geographic proximity (within a mile of one another)
- Shared corporate registration
- Common ownership
- Shared management
- Shared policies and operating procedures

Whether multiple locations are treated as a single facility is determined at LegitScript's discretion based on the specific circumstances.

CBD Product Certification

CBD Product Certification is priced per product.

Products that differ in formulation generally require separate certification.

Examples requiring separate certification

- Different fragrances
- Different active ingredients
- Formula changes

Products that differ only in size generally count as a single product for pricing purposes, provided the formulation remains the same.

Please note that different package sizes may still require separate product samples to be submitted to our laboratory partner during the certification review.

Can I receive a refund?

Application and certification fees are generally nonrefundable, as outlined in our Terms & Conditions.

If you decide not to proceed with your application, please contact [email protected] as soon as possible. We may be able to refund your application fee only if your request is received before our review of your application has begun. Once the application review has started, application fees are nonrefundable.

Can I use multiple payment methods?

pUnfortunately, an individual payment (such as the application fee or the certification fee) cannot be split across multiple payment methods. That said, if you’d like to use a different payment method for distinct types of payment we can help with that! Email [email protected] before your certification is approved.
