Certified for Scale: How MD Integrations Is Making Compliance a Growth Engine for Telehealth

MD Integrations partnered with LegitScript to deliver a unified compliance-as-a-service offering for telehealth brands at scale. As the industry's leading physician-led clinical infrastructure provider, MD Integrations saw the same bottleneck slowing down founders and enterprise brands alike: certification. By becoming a LegitScript Enterprise Certification Partner, MD Integrations embeds certification directly into its sales and onboarding process, giving virtual care and telehealth companies a faster, more integrated path from "ready to review" to "ready to go live."

Q&A With Dr. Marc Serota

In the following Q&A, Dr. Marc Serota explains why MD Integrations chose to make LegitScript Certification a built-in part of its infrastructure, rather than a step clients have to manage on their own.

MD Integrations describes itself as physician-led clinical infrastructure for telehealth. What does that actually look like day-to-day for the brands you work with?

It means a brand does not have to build a clinical operation from scratch to launch or scale. We connect companies to a physician-only network- MDs and DOs, licensed across all 50 states, DC, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Guam- so the clinical side of the business is handled by people who understand both the medicine and the regulatory environment it sits inside. A founder or CEO of a digital health company can focus on their product and their patients instead of recruiting, credentialing, and managing a provider network themselves.

MD Integrations works with everyone from first-time founders to major DTC brands expanding into telehealth. What does each of those companies actually need from a clinical infrastructure partner?

They need different things, but they are solving a version of the same problem. A new founder needs a trusted, launch-ready partner so they're not building every piece of infrastructure themselves before they can even open their doors. A mid-market or established telehealth business is usually expanding into a new service line and needs that expansion to not slow down the rest of the business. An enterprise digital health company moving into virtual care for the first time needs a clear, fast pathway into a highly regulated space without diverting resources away from the business they have already built. In every case, the job is to remove friction between "we want to do this" and "we are actually doing this."

Compliance is often treated as a hurdle rather than something a company builds its business around. What does MD Integrations think about that?

We think of compliance as the foundation, not a checkbox at the end of the process. In digital healthcare, every week lost to a compliance gap is a missed opportunity to serve patients and grow a brand responsibly. A physician-led platform makes compliance part of how the infrastructure is built in the first place, rather than something layered on afterward. That is a meaningful difference from providers who recommend compliance steps but don't actually own them alongside the client. This is why we chose to partner with LegitScript to help our partners receive certification faster and more seamlessly.

How has that philosophy shaped the way certification fits into MD Integration’s onboarding process specifically?

We didn't want certification to be a separate errand a client has to go manage on their own, disconnected from everything else we're doing together. It is built directly into onboarding, with dedicated support from initial application through annual renewal, so there is no handoff risk and no relationship that gets disaggregated the moment compliance comes into play. As a LegitScript Enterprise Certification Partner, our clients can begin that review process in as little as two business days rather than waiting weeks before the work even starts.

What changes for a telehealth brand once a bottleneck like compliance gets removed?

Momentum. When compliance is not holding up launch, a team can put its full attention into patient acquisition, its technology, and the provider partnerships that actually grow the business. For founders, that means getting to market faster. For larger brands expanding into telehealth, it means a new line of business doesn't drag down the momentum of the business they already have. Removing that friction is what lets companies focus on growth instead of paperwork.
